Rear shocks
These arrived today. Sachs 030871. Monotube?! Supposed to be for FE3 but they’re going on the LS.
Now I’m wondering if they’ll suffice for the SS FE5 which also suffers from deferred derrière dampening repairs.
Thoughts?

Thanks! That was my 1st choice but then I couldn’t resist the monotube, usually only in expensive stuff. Not that these are dirt cheap.
We’ll see.
To the SS question, it seems the picture of the AC Delco 540442 listed at Rock Auto for the SS has a Sachs sticker on it, but I couldn’t read the numbers. The plastic rod cover looks the same. I compared the extended and compressed length of a Sachs I got to what is stated for the AC Delco and they are identical within the error of a carefully read tape. Of course that doesn’t make the valving the same.
I think these Sachs dampeners are going on the SS just for fun.
Just fishing for the latest info. I know a lot of this has been covered before. Feel free to throw this claptrap it in with some other appropriate shock thread.
Thanks again!
