The reason why i got an HHR SS
#2
I actually test drove an 05 gto today. But they wanted too much and not enough on the trade for the SS. Almost 60 dollars more a month. Not enough including insurance and gas. So I guess I will swap the turbo and beef up the auto. I had looked at getting a manual SS but I would still lose a couple thousand on the deal. My plan: Fastest Auto SS in the US. I will be filling everybody in on the details of my plan after I hear word from ZZP.

The GTO on that dyno pull mad 761hp at the wheels but we stopped knowing that the trans could barely hold that... in the 1/4 mile run the trans was slipping and the rear was screaming. So with good parts that pass could have been better. But there is also plenty more power avalible through tuning. Im hoping to make about 900whp!

Heard back from ZZP,
"Our 2.4L auto Cobalt made it to 360 WHP before the trans said that it was done(after many passes). It didn’t break either, the clutches were just burned up. We ended up rebuilding the trans with some new goodies and it is in the car working fine still."
So the auto isn't as bad as we may have thought.
Fill me in on the GTO's engine. Still running an LS2 block or did you go LSX?
Thanks,
Dave
