Thumbs up Registration now open for the Shindig in Shell Knob!!

Registration now open for the Shindig in Shell Knob!!

August 2-5, 2007; Table Rock Lake; Shell Knob, MO
"A gathering of family, friends, and HHR's."

You can download a registration form by going to the website; www.shindiginshellknob.com

It's going to be a great time. I'll be traveling down there for a couple days each month now to finalize all of the local plans.

Right now I'm working on a local business discount card. Hopefully we'll get 10% off at a bunch of the local businesses.

Sponsors are lining up very nicely. There are going to be some very cool, and sought after prizes. Both in raffles and an attendance prize drawing!! Sadly we lost a sponsor who will be greatly missed, SoCal HHR's.

We will be looking for a few people who'd be willing to help out at the runs and such.

BTW, t-shirts and stuff are available now at www.thehhrstore.com

We'll have the main registration Thursday the 2nd. Can you say, "Goodie bag!"?We have rented a LARGE pavilion to use for the whole week-end. That night we'll have a run to Eureka Springs, Arkansas for a night of mini-golf, go-karts, and a water-slide. After we stop at Catfish Cabin to put on the feed-bag though!!

Friday night we'll get together for a run into Branson, "Hillbilly Las Vegas"!! For those who want, they'll have the option of going to Dolly Parton's Dixie Stampede. (You get to choose to be a Yank or a Reb!) This is a really fun dinner/show. Others can take advantage of all the other loads of fun things in Branson.

Saturday is the big day!

Show & Shine with a BBQ after. Lots of trophies!! Then the Main Run! Some of the best country hi-way driving you're gonna find! Lot's of hills, curves, and beautiful scenery. Then we're off to an old-fashioned cruise-in!

Sunday morning, a farewell breakfast buffet.

And then, Bonnie and I start planning the 2nd Annual Shindig in Shell Knob!!

Bonnie and I wanna keep this 50/50 HHR vs. family vacation. That's why we've tried to leave plenty of time for doing things in groups or with your families during the day. If you love to fish, ski, jet-boat, etc....Table Rock Lake has it all!

Lots of small family-run resorts in every price range. Some right on the lake, some just off of it. The U.S. Corps of Eng. runs a very nice campground right on the lake; most sites have water/power. One site w/no service is within 15 ft. of the lake!! You can reserve sites now through Campbell Point Campgrounds . There is a marina there where you can rent anything you'd need for fun on the lake.

You can contact me or Bonnie (HHR MOM) here or email info@shindiginshellknob.com

We're planning on this being an annual, so come on down to the Shindig and let's set this off right! Thanks all!!

GDZHHR, are you planning to head back to St Louis on Sunday? I'm considering making the trip then heading to up to see my family. We could form a caravan all the way up I-44, especially if all those Illinois HHRs attend!

That's the plan. We'll be coming back to town soon after the Sunday breakfast buffet.

Unhappy

It is with great regret that I need to announce that there will be no Shindig.

For personal reasons, I am no longer going to be able to be nearly as active here and elsewhere in the HHR community. As the saying goes, life happens. It has nothing to do with the HHR community. There are a lot a great people here.

I'd like to thank everyone who has been supportive of me and the planning of this event. Especially those who were helping as sponsors. All donations will be returned.

I will stop by from time to time. It will just be every few days/weeks instaed of minutes/hours.

Thanks to all, Mike
