Remote Start

Hey guys I tried the remote start feature from the fob but it isn't working. I turned it on in DIC and after pressing the lock button, then I press the start button on the fob, the lights flash and beep four times then nothing

Try pressing the lock button twice.
Hold the start button for 5 seconds then release.
That's the way mine works.

You can have two fobs per vehicle... But yeah, it's the car that is programmed.

I just lightly sandpapered the contact areas on the circuit board to get rid of the dust and grime, and sticked new contacts on the undertip if the buttons yesterday. Turns out it wasn't bad after all, it works now.

For some reason whenever I press the remote start button after the lock button, the car goes into a "panic" mode and starts the alarm horn (slowly at first but then long horns with short intervals). The rest works fine.

I have merged your 4 threads about the key fob, there is useful information in some that applies to the others.

One of the contacts is still dirty. Remote start button is a combination of Panic and Lock. Holding Panic and Lock at the same time does the same thing.
