Chevy dealers carry an upgrade system, 1000 ft. distance, 1 button operation.
No fiddling around locking, unlocking, just push the button twice.
May get feature soon that will open/close windows, and sunroof.

with having to push the lock button then remote start it is kinda hard to scare people with car starting when you have it setup for horn honk once everytime you hit the lock button.

hit lock button once horn beeps once.
hit unlock button once horn beeps twice.
Since we have a alarm system, i know not much of one, but people where i live think since a light flashes and horn honks, they dont mess with the car. BTW it is parked right outside my window, so dont get any bright ideals unless you want 45mm bullets flying at you And i got a discount for this alarm system through progressive HAHA, dumbasses.

Has anyone on here done that yet, Im sure someone has. But hows everyone like this feature, Its one of my favs!
I used to do that until I made a 3 year old cry because he got scared. Only time I use the remote start is at home and before i leave for work

I had to install a anti-start device on mine becauce of my insurance , they dont recall the one from GM , because of that now here the sequence for my remote control: Push lock button, push start button 4 sec. and push again lock button. I live on the second floor appartement, I have to look if my rear light are flashing to see if the HHR start here it start to get chilly....

I can use it sitting at my desk, which is 20 feet from the 2nd floor door at work. The car is usually at least 100 feet away from the door.

I hit the lock button, then hold down the start button and when I come out, it's running.

I love it.

Smile Remote start!

I love my remote start! Hit lock button once, no honk sound, then hold the start button 2 to 3 second and WHALA my car has started! And i love even more the fact that if i decide... oooops, i think i'll wait to go laters... just hit that start button again and WHALA my car no longer running!
Love That!!!!!!!!
And the fact that it remains locked when running... man... couldn't ask for more!!!!!
Now the drawback for me is..... i always forget to put the key in the ignition when i get in, so i go to put in in reverse or drive and think to my self.... what the.... then think to my self... you IDIOT need key in ignition!!! hehehehahaha

I use my remote starter all of the time here in Florida. Even with the tinted windows, I usually start it as I am approaching to get the air going and the oil flowing (unintentional rhyme!).

<old man-like rant>The best way to deal with the horn chirp is to turn the stupid thing off - it's annoying folks. I don't want to hear your horn chirp at 3 a.m. when you get home from the nightlife.</end old man-like rant>
