A full 30 minutes battery lobotomy will clear the codes.

Do people think that they can remote start the vehicle then drive it without the key?

Pulling the fuse might turn the CEL off but not clear the code. The dashboard is controlled by the BCM.

2008 2.4L 2LT

I was getting a CEL, P0013 (exhaust camshaft solenoid circuit), R/S would not work. Also, acceleration seemed weak. No other issues.

If I pulled the red fuse on the neg battery terminal for 20 minutes (and replaced it) the remote start would again work BUT after about three (or maybe exactly 3) key start cycles, the CEL would be back, and the R/S would again not work.

Having done a visual for wire damage and reset the connector, same drill as above repeated a couple times, no luck.

So I disconnected the battery neg and replaced the solenoid. (Dorman, on the theory that lots of ACDelco orginals have failed.) Voilà! Luck on my side. She's running better and the R/S works.

But then, after a few start cycles. WUT? The CEL is back!!?? Still running great but the R/S won't work. Aw heck, I'll take a look in the morning.

Come out in the morning and she fires right up with the remote. Now no CEL. Days later, no CEL. Plugged in, no recent codes only history. More days later, everything's fine.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Maybe you should study up on how OBD2 works then mysteries will fade. GoOgle is wonderful for education.
