Remote Start/AVG Econ

Remote Start/AVG Econ
I have a rather dumb question...
When you start the HHR with the remote start and let it run, does it lower your average ECON on the DIC? I know if you were to go and start it and just sit in it it will lower it, but I wondered if the remote start would do the same?

A lot of the lower economy has to do with the cold temperatures and not remote starting it. It takes the car a lot longer to warm up so the fuel economy takes a dive. I get close to 25MPG spring-fall and 21 or so in the winter whether I use the remote start or not. My experience has been that the remote start only changes the overall economy a little bit(unless you're taking really short trips).

well ive noticed that when I dont use it I can see a bit higher like 23-24ish but when using the remote start it goes down to the 20-22avg. Its just like when your driving and you're stopped at a light it takes down your average so why would the remote start be any different.

The real answer is : just because the majority of the accessories are not powered up untill the key is in and turned, does not mean the control modules are not fully fired up and working..and storing info...just like a computer in sleep mode, it still remembers what its doing.....the info required for the system to operate correctly is the same info displayed on the DIC, converted to english.
