I like the way the HHR pumps out heat a lot faster (thats faster not meaning hotter) than a lot of the cars I have rented. Part of that helps using the remote start.

I can't stand that 10 minute limit! It's straight bull.
What I'm currently doing is I start it and set my iPhone's timer for 9 minutes so that I can hit the button again but that's not even enough!
I need at least 25 minutes, it's freegn 19 degrees out here!
What I have been doing this whole week is starting it with the spare key and locking it with the other remote. Anything 30 minutes or more is good but to tell you the truth when I leave it on for 45 minutes it's perfect! :)
It's not bad winter weeks all year round here in Jersey, so I figured the 2 coldest months won't hurt!
It sure feels good getting in it when it's nice and toasty, but there has to be a way to change the timer on that thing c'mon....
we need to find out how.
Or has anyone here found out already?

Start it let it run for 10 minutes..... wait 10 minutes....... start it again and go out before it shuts off again. It'll be warm...... Or are you trying to melt all the snow and ice off the car before driving?

I agree that I would want the auto start to run my car for about 20 min. I don't like to scrape windows. I don't have a auto trans so my car don't have auto start so I have to go outside to start it. I would guess that gm limted to ten min because some people would start there car in a attached garage witch could be a hazard.

It's 9 degrees out there. -3 after adding in the wind factor.
I'm going to call the dealer and see what they say about it.
If not I'm going to BestBuy to install a viper remote start for $200.
I already checked it out
The viper has has programable times of 12 minutes / 24 or /60.
And yes 60 minutes would be my choice. Not that I'm planning to let it run that long but at least at the 30 minute mark when I come out it should be good to go!
Has anyone here contacted the dealer about it before?
