Removing liftgate handle

Has anyone got some insight as to how about going about this.I'm getting rust at the corner because of abrasion I suspect and I want to touch it up and stop the abrasion. Any thoughts

Remove the inner panel, the remove the nuts. Try a search, I believe that someone posted pics somewhere here.
