Replacement Manual Shifter Knobs

I don't know if anyone else has had this problem, but the "chrome" started peeling off of my shifter knob which led to a few annoying pokes and scrapes. On top of that, a few months after I bought the car, the top half of the shifter knob came loose which led me to playing with it as I'm driving and pulling it on and off. I bought an aftermarket knob but the shifter boot wouldn't attach to it.
Well, I'm debating on making some clear anodized aluminum replacement knob tops and I'm wondering how many people would be interested in them. If there's enough interest, I could also provide them in various colors - black, red, blue...maybe even the orange. The knob would run somewhere around $30, depending on how many I need to make. Naturally, the more I make, the cheaper they get. Anyone interested please let me know. You can reply to this thread or contact me @ chris_prince@sympatico.ca

I had the chrome color coat start to peel on mine, and used clear nail polish to cure that, which it did. Haven't had the knob come loose, but I thought if anyone even the dealer attempted to change the knob, it might create future problems, which is why I went the nail polish route, which really has worked quite well.

TWM has a nice selection of knobs... that go rather nicely with their short throw shifter... that you really should get

What ever happened with these knobs you were talking about making? I'd be very interested.

$120+ knob and a $200 shift kit not to mention any extras needed plus the labor? No thanks. I'll try a universal 30 or just get a new factory knob for 80. I'm all for accessorizing but that is just ridiculous cost for a little better look and maybe a slight edge in performance shifting. It is a 4 cylinder remember.
