Unhappy Replacing headlamps

My high beams went out on the driver side so I have to replace the headlamp. How crazy is it that you have to remove the inner fender to replace a headlight bulb?

It's the first vehicle I've ever had that required you to take the wheel well apart. I did have a Jeep Cherokee the required me to remove the batthery.....or was that my S-10? BTW -Gambler, what do you mean you centered the HHR and LT? Got a pic to post??

He's referring to this (cool-ass) mod:

What type of bulbs are you using as replacements? If you're staying with halogen, I would recommend some Sylvania Silverstars.

Same here. I even checked the aliment to see if it was out, but they were dead on. GM got bright lights on lots of things on this car.

Yea a lot of trouble. I would like to get different lamps, but the plastic pins concern me. When I mounted the rear flaps, I pretty much had to cut the top of those pins off because they wouldn't come out. Fortunately, I had screws that came with the flaps to replace them with. Has anyone had luck getting the pins to come out AND then being able to re-use them?

They make H13 Silverstars? I keep checking all of the local auto parts stores and can't find them anywhere.

You're absolutely right... I have done an HID upgrade, with H13's, and didn't even think to look up whether Sylvania's making SilverStars in H13 yet. I take back what I said earlier, and suggest you wait for SilverStars in H13! LOL
