Replacing OEM HHR Battery with a Yellow Top Optima
#11
Yes, of course, what's plugged into it would be an important factor.
Optima doesn't offer a perfect fit battery for HHR. D35 is close, but about 3/4" taller.
I got the sears group 47 AGM, direct bolt in. Here is the discussion we had a little over a year ago

RJ has it been a year, how is that Sears AGM battery working?
Perhaps a better choice than the Optima, I've only run the Pptima batteries in my race cars, never had a problem, even after a wreck and rollover, the safety crew rolled it back on its wheels and towed it back into the pits, it started right up.

It's been great, I don't have any 'extra' load on it, like the OP will. But I did run the radio a few times while working on the car, probably an hour of two at a time, and it started right up with no problem at all. It's never even hinted at a slow crank.
When the original was starting to go, running the radio for 20 minutes or so would give me problems starting it. But interestingly, I never had any of the flashing lights or gauges or intermittent problems these buggies get with low batteries.
