I have a GMPP and Magnaflow cat-back if you want to hear it im in Garner

Header selection

djw479 is dead on right! I work on Ford 427 Winsor small blocks in GT40 replicas equipped with "Bundle of snakes" 180degree pipes. They sound like no other car I've ever heard as most cars with an exhaust system are considerably smaller in displacment and lower in compression. The quick RPM of a jap bike with the pop/thump of a 12:1 Comp engine! My HHR question is this; does anyone make a TRI-Y header for our 2.2/2.4l GM motors. If not what is the most effcient header (pref in stainless) available? Phil Lambert

The 2.0L LNF (Cobalt/HHR SS), 5.7L LS6 (Corvette C5 Z06), 6.2L LSA (CTS-V) are examples of proof that you do not have to be an Asian mfg to design, engineer and execute affirmative performance. And once the vehicle is sold, where does the profit end up?

It's not only who is turning the screwdriver. There's much more to it than that. Instead of looking down, maybe you need to look up and not criticize the fine members of chevyhhr.net so quickly.

HHR sounds

Guys,

I like my HHR as much as anyone. I am also lucky to own a Corvette Z06.

As far as sounds go, the HHR is a fairly pleasant 4 cylinder because it is large for it's size at 2.4 liters.

My Z06 has the electronic flap on the exhaust that opens at 3500 rpms. I modded it to open off of a switch inside of the car. It sounds great with its 505 HP but not as good as my slow Mustang GT, a 1990 225 HP car. You can't beat the sound of a 5.0 Ford small block, it is the best V8 sound on earth!!!!

A Corvette or GTO sounds wonderful but nothing is better than a 5.0 Ford Mustang..........it is heaven.

Close your eyes when one passes.......it cannot be confused with other cars.

Something I noticed thru the 2000's is the sound made by a Suburban,,it's like,,whoop whoop whoop whoop...I am a suburban lover, but the stock sound now just makes me sick.
