Question Right Headlight Dim?

About a year ago I bought an HHR (My first ever car,) and when we bought it, it had a dim right headlight. We replaced it and all was well until a few days ago when I unlocked it, and the headlight was dim again. I've just bought a new headlight to replace it again, but I'd rather not have to replace my headlight once every year, so a solution would be much appreciated. I have a 2011 Chevy HHR LS 2.2. Nothing else in the car is malfunctioning, I had someone check the battery and they said it was fine. The other headlight has not been replaced at all and has remained bright as day.

Depending on the headlight socket and it’s condition, also the H13 bulb you used, some only last a year

and not to be picky but the 2011 did not have the 2.0 available. Just the 2.2 in the LS and 2.4 in the LT

Ah, I see. I will check the box and see if how long they are rated for. I got the same kind this time. I also updated the post to be more accurate. I can never remember if the 2011 LS had a 2.2 or a 2.0. When I replace the bulb I will check the connectors and see if that is the problem. if it is not, I will update this thread.

Make sure not to touch the glass part of the bulb, as the oil in your fingers will drastically shorten the life of the bulb. Wiping the glass with alcohol after inserting it into the socket is good practice.

Check the ground wire connector on that side, also. The relays can also cause the dim light. I just replaced both relays for this

WELCOME to the group ! You will find a lot of help here !

All good advice . Also a Tiny bad of Dielectric grease helps on most connections ! Check the plug in socket, It may be corroded !
And Please update what you do find, It may help someone else :)
