Quieter tires..............

I've been looking into different tires for our HHRs. I recently found these Goodyears

Goodyear Assurance Tripple Tred
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....peed_rating=ZR

This is an All-Season Radial that should be good in all but deep snow by the reports. Has the stickiness of a performance tire and H Rated for up to 130MPH.

And one of the reviews on Tire rack had this to say about their noise level:

" These are relatively new tires for me. I replaced the OEM Bridgstone tires at 32K. They were 1/32" away from being done and the were a rough ride, loud, cornering was difficult and they were brutal in the water. I bought the Good Year TIres due to some of the reviews here. Man they feel great.

They are quiet (I actually measured the noise while driving on the highway (with the AC and Radio OFF) The bridgestones when cruising at 70 MPH the sound level in the car was 74.5 - 76.3 dBA. Sound levels with the Goodyear Tripletreds were an amazing 67 dBA. Doesnt seem like much - but consider this. Decibel is a logarithmic number. Every 3dBA is a doubling in noise.

So Goodyear Tripletreds 300% quieter than the OEM tires. The cornering and handling with the Goodyears give me much more confidence and the quiet ride is great. I can hear people on my hands-free better now as I drive 100 - 120 miles per day. They are expensive but for the piece of mind and piece and quiet they are working out great."

Price: $137.00 (each)

Seems they are a quiet ride too!
They sound like a real good replacement for OEM.
Dunno, I'd like to see/drive some.

In my list of why I should not have my HHR is the factory chrome 5 spoke rims on the front wheels continue to need air in the tires. I have some cheap used car dealer Master Crafts and with Remote start with an A3 code in glove box, which has never worked...I am about to install a complete hood latch with RS riveted to the assembly. I have 125,000 one owner HHR Lt1..what are quietest tires under $600 for a set of 4. Total car cost us $7,000 in July 2020 as Sion died. Miss my red box car! Last/first HHR I own.

The quietist tires I know of are those on someone elses car.
Never had much luck in finding a quiet tire.
I just look for a tread pattern I like at a price I can afford.
It all about the aesthetics.

I've found that turning the knob at the top center reduces the amount of tire noise I hear

I bought a air pump that charges its power in my computer...screw on valve stem and set it for 35 psi and it hums and makes noise until pressure is reached. Unit costs close to $60..have one in glove compartment of each car. Wife's HHR, my Buick and Mazda pickup. He front tires loose air every week and she doesnt feel difference or hear the NOISE...yesterday 21.5 lbs when set for 35 lbs! pisses me off...tires arent cheap. Will search for a nail Wed as will hit 68 degrees. You miss the 104s? My sister moved back to LaJolla and left her daughter and son-in-law in Phoenix. Regards, Billy K
