Road trip anyone?

So, has anyone taken a road trip in their HHR? I plan on driving from Toronto to Seattle in just under three days (shifting off with three other drivers), and am wondering how comfortable the high roof is for a looooong drive.

One of our mods. She drove from Cali to Florida and weaved her way back to cali making many stops in the midwest. A true road trip. Did it by herself too!

I was lucky enough to meet her and have lunch with her as she stayed overnight in St. Louis.

Here's the thread from her trip. 7000+ miles.

We made a trip from Cairo, Missouri to Denver, Colorado and back a last month. About 2,000 miles round trip. Can't compare to Sindy's trip, but it was long to us . HHR did great. Very comfy, great mileage, and handled the mountains very well. We have a 3 year old and an 8 year old, and no comfort problems with them either. DVD players are a life saver . Good luck on your journey and be safe.

didn't make a trip yet, next weekend i'll drive Quebec city to Montreal (3hrs) only to visit a cousin. The real trip will be next October, me,wife and my daughter will going to Daytona Beach for 3 weeks. That will be the real test for my HHR.

I have a 2LT with sport suspension and have been back and forth between Georgia and Northern Minnesota twice and Georgia and Eastern Iowa once. Mine performed just fine. Comfortable, good on the road in high winds, great mileage, all in all a good road car. And the roads in IL, WI and MN are not in great shape. Even pulled one leg, MN to GA, non-stop and felt fine when I arrived. I would take mine anywhere without hesitation. Have a nice trip and be safe!

Regards,
Pat

Three and a half weeks and we're heading north out of Phoenix, up through Utah, Idaho, and into Montana to Glacier National Park, for three weeks of camping. Eager to see how all the camping gear is going to fit in the car. We think we're going to have a comfortable ride and are looking forward to it. Counting the days!

Last year in Stitch I myself and my wife took a trip from Buffalo, NY to Sierra Vista, AZ and back using a circular route. There is an incomplete account of the trip at the web site linked in my signature. Let's just say that aside from a rock in Monument Valley and some inexperience driving in the mountains, the trip was an excellent ride in the car (with some insane fuel ranges of 500+ miles!!).

I have made a few trips from Nebraska to Pennsylvania, slept for about 3hrs in the car and continued on. It was a comfortable drive, and I have several service related disabilities. Total round trip is about 2450. Went to pick up my son last summer, drove him back home, then went back in Oct to get him again. Best avg mpg on Interstate was 35mpg.
