Rotor Problem
#11
Hi guys, new here, (just found the site). My car (2007 2LT) also has the rotor problem, I've had it since around 10,000 miles, I just crossed 15,000 miles now and plan on buying new rotors and pads and installing them before winter. Anyone have any good brands to recommend? I asked the dealer at the last oil change about the rotors, they said they are warrantied till 12,000 or one year, but I don't remember reading that anywhere on the warranty (not that I read the whole thing) but I thought it was 3 years / 36 months. I realize its a normal wear item, but to go at just over a year old and around 10,000 miles is crazy. I have a '96 Impala SS with the original rotors still. I guess back then they used better steel... Thanks alot guys,

rotor - rooter...
Me too...but why would they just turn the rotors instead of just replacing them with as much trouble as we have all had? It would probably take less time for the technician to just put a new set on than to wait for a different tech (probably) to turn the old ones - saving the dealerships man hours.

Hey G-UNIT
Looks like you and I have the exact same truck - black, grey leather, chrome package, 2.4, - looks great man! I would absolutely scream at the dealer about the 3 year - 36,000 mile bumper-to-bumper warrenty...12,000 0n the rotors is bunk...

Here's the poll the other poster was talking about.

I ended up having mine replaced by the dealer under warranty, after they turned them twice in under 12k miles. Knock on wood, I have about 19k on the car now, and they are fine. I unfortunately, didn't keep my old rotors; your idea is a good one
