Saving for my HHR

Well, I hope to buy my first HHR by December. I need $8000 to buy one. I currently have $6000 saved up. Btw, I need all A's and B's this semester to buy the car.

This is the journey of saving up for the HHR. Wish me luck!

That's cool! Sounds like you are a dedicated saver and there certainly isn't enough of that in today's world!

Keep up the good work (and the grades) and we'll be reading about your new HHR ride soon!

Got my first paycheck at my new job. $194

However, I bought myself a new pair of shoes, some carnivorous plants, and the rest is for the fall semester of college.

I guess the next paycheck I'll save for the HHR.

I have been shopping for a used HHR out here in SoCal and you can get one for 6k if you shop around out here. I have seen them as low as $3700 with a salvage title, that has been repaired. I have also seen a few with 70k miles or so for around 6k in reasonable shape and a clear title. The nicest salvage car I've seen so far was a 2007 Black 2LT with every possible option for $6995 and I think it had 12k miles on it. It was spotless too.

I know salvage title freeks some people out, but I have been buying them for my company for 20 years and have never had an issue with one. We then flog them till they die. If the repair was done properly it should be fine. The car has to be re-certified by the state to get registered again, at least in California.

So um yeah, I keep buying stuff with my paychecks. Had I saved them all up, I would have the money by now.

Anyways, here's what I've got so far:

03/19/2010: $6400
