Screwed

Yesterday, I stripped out the head of one of the six screws that covers the air filter box on my ‘08 SS. Went to the dealer and they said it was a order only item. $14 ea.

Hardware store.(Lowes,Home Depot, etc) Wont match the head design? Buy a whole set w/the same thread and length and change them all. Will be cheaper than the dealer.
I put rubber washers on mine to keep from scratching the paint after I painted the lid.Check out the pics in my gallery.

Here's the scenario... "you stripped the head of one of the screws, huh?" while checking the computer, "yeah, it's a back order... maybe here in a couple of weeks, one week if you're really lucky."

After you agree to that bull, and walk out of the parts dept. the guy says, "hey, joe, go to home depot and get a pack or screws for $2.50"

and so it goes.
