Seat belt warning chime disable
#61
Will cutting the dark green wire stop the chime when the drivers door is open? Countless times I was working on the car and had to have the drivers door open and wanted to listen to the radio but the chime made me pull the key out of the ignition and chuck it out the window more times than I care to count.
Will cutting the same wire also stop the bluetooth form working with my phone?

Lets get back to the question.
So, after all of these posts has anyone found out if there is a procedure to disable the chime without cutting wires or unplugging connectors?
All of my other vehicles had (or have) a series of steps that you follow to disable it. I have read and re read the owners manual on our 2007 HHR and am unable to find anything.
Anyone have any better luck yet?

Hi guys. I apologize if I repeat what was said earlier ...
No need to disable sound "not fastened safety belt." If you not using a belt - fasten the buckle, but put the belt behind the seat (not on your chest). Belt in this position will not interfere with seat adjustment.
+ two advantages:
1. sound signal in good condition. it is valued for public inspection or sale of the car;
2. Traffic police will have the impression - a belt fastened, law-abiding driver. Bulging belt is clearly visible in the window opening.
But if you take advice of the insurer - use a belt for its intended purpose.

Depends on state law. Some states it is a primary infraction like child safety seats. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seat_b..._United_States
Try telling the cop in DC it isn't a primary offense, they periodically stand around intersections looking for seatbelts. One time they decided standing in the 14th street bridge at morning rush was a brilliant idea, but the wrote a lot of tickets.
In PA it is a secondary offense and is a cheap ticket, only $10. Maryland it is primary and $83. It is a primary in most states.
