Selling HHR from Canada to USA?
#11
Grumpee, I was told by the dealer that it was mfg'd in Vancouver. This is when I was checking on a block heater being included with it.
Even if it was made for Canada in Mexico - Chev was a bit dumb to not have a block heater as standard, or a highly recommended option.
hhrcrafty, I am the second owner...so we'll have to see what happens.
If nothing else, I may be posting it for sale in March, and will post on here as well.
2007 HHR Panel SS, auto, 40,000+ km. Avg 8.6 - 8.7 l per 100 km

There are no Manufacturing of cars in BC, i don't think there's to much manufacturing in all of West Coast North America for that matter. (excluding Mexico cause i have no idea where the plants would be)
Ya there's tons of red tape to go through shipping cars US to Canada and vice versa. But I believe if you find a decent Broker they'll do all the headache stuff for you, at a price of course.

You have the car shipped to the U.S.border then bring it in yourself skip the broker.I have done 7 cars ,13 motorcycles and 2 trailers takes 15 minutes max.If they are newer than 15 years old they must meet Canadian standards ,not have any out standing recalls and you have to pay a $210 fee to R.I.V. your GST and you drive away.

You guys are hilarious!!!
OKAY, I did a dumb, I believed the auto service guy at the dealership - heck, I have driven Hondas and Toyotas for years, I'm out of the loop!
I have my loan documents here....they call it an HHR. That's it!
BTW - I am looking at getting it from Canada to the USA, not the other way around. Not confirmed yet...waiting a few more days.
It has a couple of surface dents that are getting fixed on March 4th, anyway. These suckers are pricey to fix!
Anyway, gas mileage is 27.35 mpg (US gallons). 25,000 miles on it. The odometer, tach etc are all in metric, NOT dual-numbered. Just so's ya know.
