update

The shop owner told me the tires are inflated to the tire sidewall info.
The factory sticker is put on the low side because of ride quality.
He told me the factory doesnt care about tire wear, just ride.
He also told about all the trouble they had with the fords rolling over because of tire under inflation.

Seems like 2 schools of thought out there.

I will inflate to 35 psi tomorrow.

If you have 16" wheels use 32 psi, if you have 17" go with 35. Factory is more worried about safety than ride, otherwise they would get the cr@p sued out of them......

Your shop owner is wrong! Tire sidewall rating is maximum pressure....

Oh and the Ford deal.... those tires were under inflated because people can't put air in their own tires, not because the specified rating was to low.

Find another shop. Sounds like this guy wants to sell a lot of tires due to over inflation.

x2. The sidewall rating is the "Maximum Pressure". I don't know any reputable shop/mechanic that would recommend inflating your tires to the max. With tires that are overinflated, the tread in the center of the tire will wear faster than the rest of the tread, which results in you needing new tires sooner.
