I kept watching it like "Hmm... this trans looks AWFULLY familiar..." Then. In the last 10 seconds, it all made sense...

Thanks for reposting. I had seen this before and I'm still amazed how an automatic transcmission works. It looks so easy to put together, but a PITA to fix if something goes wrong.

Looks VERY familiar, as I had to examine a HHR transaxle yesterday for my work as a damage appraiser. Seems an Oregon gentleman was down in San Diego with his HHR (2010, 10k miles) when he ran over some road debris. Dented the transmission pan, among other things. A local Chevy dealer did the work, including replacing the pan. After the repairs the owner drove it just a bit before dinghy towing back up here behind his motorhome. Got to driving it back here, and after awhile it wouldn't go anywhere. Local Chevy dealer said it had only about 4 quarts of trans fluid in it. It's supposed to have around 10. Burned clutches, blue-ish metal. Lots of shavings in the pan and the fluid. Somebody's going to have some questions for a San Diego area Chevy dealer.......

Good old Windsor Transmission now just a gutted out building with a 4 sale sign spent 28 1/2 years there. That took 2 days to flim not shure how long it took to put 1 transmission together but they were kicking them out at 2.6 trannies a minute per line.

The guys on the repair line could take them apart and put them back together in 20 minutes.

Wow. That's amazing! They certainly knew them like the backs of their hands. Who sourced the parts?
