Boy is that ever true. The yahoo financial forums used to have intelligent and worthwhile posts, now virtually all the "contributions" are by complete blathering idiots and consist of ignorant political posts or hate postings not related to financial analysis in any way whatsoever. Obviously no monitoring or enforcement, and what could have been useful is now literally "useless".

If somebody wants to talk trash, let them. Then laugh at them. My local newspaper has a reputation for being ratherr liberal politically. They print conservative op ed letters all the time, but they just take pains to print the stupidest letters they can find.
