After the dealer replaced my ingnition switch I noticed a mark on my dash that wasn't there before.
Today I took it back to let the service manager look at it. He said that they would have to replace the whole dash $3000. He called the mechanic out to look at it and determinated they put the mark there.
The service manager said they would order a dash and put it in. I said couldn't you give me a couple hundered dollars worth of service instead? (my running boards need painted to mach) He said no they would only replace the dash.
I said go ahead and order it. After leaving and thinking about it I called and canceled the whole thing. I can only imagine what problems that replacing the dash might cause, rattles, misfit panels or more damages then I have now. What would you do?

Is the scatches really obvious when your sitting behind the wheel? If it's not, I wouldn't worry about it, unless your a perfectionist.
Pros about letting the dealership replace the dash: it's done under warranty and done by someone who's GM certified.
Cons: it may cause a rattle that you'll have to go in for more servicing whenever you're not at work... and it's time consuming.

If that damage bothers you, by all means have them replace it. I had the local dealer replace a misbehaving instrument cluster. Can't tell it was ever touched, other than the instrument cluster works 100% now.

I had a smokin hot model at a car show ding my hood with her bracelet..was very upset over the unfortunate mishap but over time ive learned to live with it..chaulk it up to vehicle character..maybe time to add a custom made piece of trim..match both sides??brush alum..match your wheel..but on the other` hand..have sum faith in ur dealership..the guys that work there(atleast here)are not the potsmokin beer drinkin yokul that came out of a mud pit..they are trained well...if they are willing to fix it..let em..if it makes noise..take it back again..depends on how much time and effort you want to spare....
