Side rail install?? Should i?

Hi everyone my 2009 HHR did not come with the step rails however I do have an opportunity to pick some up and I was wondering if the install is easy or is it going to be something I don't want to get into please assist me if you have added yours if you didn't have them before as well and let me know if it's something easy that can be done do they just bolt on or do you have to have special rocker moldings that it attaches to not really sure mine is the regular 2009 LS model without them let me know thanks guys I really appreciate all your help

Installing them can be done. I put them on my 2006.
Be sure to also get the mounting brackets.
There are write-ups about doing this job on this site.

Remove the kick panel.
Install the brackets.
Install the running boards.
They also connect to the front and rear splash panels.

Everyone seems to want them. We made sure we DIDN'T get them. They stick out and get your pants dirty. In hindsight, I now have a slight preference for them. The car stays cleaner. The car looks fine without them. Maybe better. They do add to the retro schtick.

I must admit that it took a while to get used to them after I installed the running boards.
I even thought that I had made a mistake.
But as time passed I became used to them sticking out more than the side skirts.

You will need the clips that come with them. If they are used you need to find them somehow.
If you put them on you can get rid of the rock deflectors on the rear fenders.
