I've only had my HHR for about 1000 miles, so far I've had the front light bulb changed (after it exploded) and today I had the horn replaced.

Wow, I must be really lucky. My '06 with 31,000 miles has had few problems. I had the shifter mechanism replaced under warranty and the two recalls for the headliner and the storage compartment. Otherwise, it's been just regular maintenance.

Nearly 22,000 miles. The last oil change per DIC was nearly 10,000 miles. I use synthetic.... should I trust this thing?? The oil looked good and it didn't lose a drop. I trust GM, but at 10,000 miles I still had 7% remaining life according to DIC.

The car is at the dealer right now for:

1. 22,500 mile service.
2. Burning rubber smell after a drive.
3. Vibration in steering (I played dumb, I know this is rotor problems).
4. 2nd remote being replaced (1st one has already been replaced).
5. Tire rotation.
6. Paint chips on hood (caused by wiper on driver's side when pulled out. Chipped the leading edge of the hood. Paint chipped on leading edge of driver's door (door scraped on its own mechanism inside the hood/fender).

I've had a rental since Tuesday last week and have no idea when I'll get my HHR back. I miss it.

Can you tell me the symptoms of the "intermediate steering column" problem? Was it slack or loose?

I had to take mine in today and get the shifter control assembly replaced....under warranty though.
I got the rubber bumpers under warranty. At first they wouldnt, saying because they werent installed on mine from the factory that it wasnt a dealer issue. However when I got the HHR back they were installed, on the invoice it said "bumpers separated from hatch - warranty"
I really like the service at that dealer, they are definitely more helpful than the other 4 or 5 I have been to.

Yeah, I stopped at the dealer, and he yanked one off of another car there...lol. That one was missing one anyways. At least I have them both on mine now!

Items dealership took care of.....
A/C growl 2006
Cracked front bowtie 2006 (they cracked when they fixed the A/C growl )
Headliner recall 2008
Blown fuse for HVAC controls 2009
Glove box recall 2009 (still in package though )

Have a clunk in the front, but it's only over one particular spot on the road. Will take it in before warranty expires....

All preventative maintenance done by me.

32000 miles.

Oh yeah, forgot about this one. Maybe when I put the premium decal on in warmer weather.
