Smoke Rims Gone to Hell

Am really disgusted. Went to the car wash this afternoon, saw what appeared to be a big spot of dirt, looked and the smoked clear is completely gone. Looked at other wheels and it appears three or four of them are going to hell.

My mileage is 26K and I have owned the car for 14 months since new. Believe I have 3 yr/36,000 warranty. Has anyone else experienced this and what success have you had with GM?

Do I visit my local dealer and ask to speak to an area manager?

Thanks Chevy Mgr. Was hoping you would reply and with a positive answer. Have you guys seen a lot of this? Am I to expect more of the same with replacements?

there have been other posts on here where the black chrome is disappearing. Can't remember who, but I do remember it.

I was really thinking about getting some black chrome, and then saw those posts, made me think twice.

I had issues on my GP wheels a year after I bought the car. They replaced them with no issues.

Like MGR stated they are covered and form my own experience you should have no trouble getting them taken care of.

On my GP wheels they were made different and improved over the originals.

Could be a supplier problem and GM may have had them address it like in my case?

One thing for sure the screwed up ones will never get better.

Well, got the approval for replacement of my smoked chrome wheels today. Service manager remarked that they may be remanufactured wheels - we shall see. Don't think I'm going to drive these next winter - am sure the salt/grime has something to do with it. Am even tempted to go with another brand or 18s.
