So the HHR may not be fast, but...
But it was fast enough to get me a 26 MPH over ticket on my way home last night!
Im so pissed, not at the cop, or the car, or the speed limit - at MYSELF! (I know a change from most people that complain about tickets, saying its not their fault)
I have changed my driving habits SO much since moving here, and this is the first ticket I have had in FOUR YEARS. Thats what pisses me off, I was doing so good. That and it pisses me off that I just increased my insurance rates!
Normally I would just pay the ticket and suck it up, but with it being 26 over, I want to at least try to get it reduced to help the insurance so I am waiting on a buddy that always uses some traffic lawyer here to get tickets dropped.
Thats it, just wanted to vent.

I hate that queasy feeling I get in my gut when I see the red flashing lights in the rear view mirror. I've been lucky and haven't had a ticket in a few years. I have been pulled over a couple of times but have managed to talk my way out of the tickets. It helps if you can make the cop laugh but some of them are just to straight to laugh at my stupid jokes.

Agreed. And I am the first one to lecture about speeding, to be honest. It was 86 in a 60. In all honesty I dont think I was doing 86, but the gun doesnt lie. Traffic around me was at least 75 (typical for houston to be 15 over), so its not like I was driving like a ******* flying in and out of traffic. I was just tootling along in the fast lane.
Ive noticed I pay far less attention to my speed in the HHR vs in my lexus for some reason. I feel like I am standing still in the HHR too, its wierd. The lex is easy to get out of contol with speed because the ride is so smooth you just dont notice it and it feels no different. I will just have to adjust to the feel of the HHR and be more careful.

Don't you have a "Traffic School" option in TX? In CA, we can elect to take a half-day Traffic School in lieu of having it go on your record. You pay the fine & school costs and thats it. Check with your local DMV (or DPS).
