Sorry to hear about your ride, but it protected the Mrs when needed. Glad to hear she is okay.

I am always concerned as to how well cars hold up in a crash. Your HHR did well protecting to occupant. Sad that after 144K miles the car is toast. Now what will you replace it with?

Glad your wife is OK, that's important. But there sure are some IDIOTS out there, can't wait 2 seconds. A while back I saw one cut across threee lanes of trafic to get into the mall. go figure.........

No idea what I'll replace it with. Maybe if I find a nice used HHR I'll bite.

Just as a follow up it was my HHR against a 98 Explorer at 35mph so my car did pretty well on the defense. You can see there's the start of a buckle in the roof at the seam of the two doors.

There sure seems to be alot more As.. hats on the road these days.
Can't hardly go a mile without seeing someone pull a really dumb move.

Convinced me!!

Just before i bought my 06 2lt, an HHR was towed in to the body shop at a Chevy dealer where i worked. She was hit in the rear by a trash truck while stopped at a red light. Crushed to the back seat. Could still open and close all four doors. The lady driving the HHR was not injured!! Convinced me!!
