Exclamation somebody help me

I have a new 2008 hhr. my husband is trying to put the aftermarket stereo in it and having a whole lot of problems. they sent him the harness thingy for the 2007 and apparently thats different??
the stereo works now but it doesnt read seatbelts, air bag, windsheild wipers, or my information center and my power steering seems to be gone. I love my hhr and just want it to be all better, someone;s gotta know how to help. And yes he has checked every fuse.
please help me save my marriage

What harness do you have?
You need the module that retains door chime, seatbelt, etc...
There is a post on here somewhere but I havent searched for it.

too late? too late for what?

thank you I will have him check for both fuse boxes.I just cant understand why the power steering would have anything to do with the wires to your stereo anyway. then again I am a woman, I just know that I hate getting a new car and cant drive it. but please continue with the suggestions, we need all the help we can get. we also live on an Island so it isnt easy to just take it to someone.

The power steering Fuse is in the box under the hood and is fuse #1 and is 60amps. People blow this one when they don't jump start the car correctly, they think it is a neg battery post when it is really the power cable going to the electric power steering motor.

Love the OE radio, but it is SEVERELY underpowered. What is the thing, 8 watts per channel???? Just to overcome the tire noise from the crappy Firestones I have the thing at about 90% volume on the highway, and that's with the speed sensitive volume ON.

What speed sensitive? I have an 07 with the premium sound package. Does it have a ramper upper or what ever it's called?
