Spring Change........Rattle
#11
Hey Tik,
Just a thought but did you unbolt the brake line bracket? I know I unbolted it on the 4 cars Ive leveled to avoid stretching it when the axle swings down to remove the springs.
I was thinking if you HAD and not remounted the bracket, that would make that noise, like something was loose and knocking. Just a thought. I really need to take every freakin thing out of my ride and then ride in the back, front w/e to really look for the rattles.

No I didn't undo the brake line brackets.
Didn't see any real cause for concern there.
I'm going to put it up on ramps again today, check things out again, then jack stands and pull the rear wheels and check the shock bottom bolts again......the rattle does seem to occur at what I would expect to be a midrange issue.
Not necessarily over roughest roadways, more like on worn concrete level freeway, but yet again going down hill on rough asphalt.
Perplexing?

Just to end this, I did the recheck of things, shocks were fine. Found a possibility with the "vent" tube that runs up the gas filler pipe. Added two wire ties to that. Also when I was having the most problems the back seats were in cargo mod, put them up. This all seemed to help, alot, but the rattle does creep in occasionally.
So I added 50# into the spare tire well.......what ever this is it seems to be in the drivers side rear area. I have bigger things than this to fret about so if it is just once in a while, so be it.

Just A little more...
Made a small 2 hour trip yesterday with my brother and my Dad. One riding in the backseat, of course, and never once had the rattling noise.
Doesn't "answer" any questions but was happy to see it isn't an always occurring problem. I've yet to ride in the back with someone else driving to see what I can pinpoint.
