SquareTrade Warranty?
Anyone ever do a SquareTrade Warranty? I bought a DVD head unit on ebay and was offered the 3 YR all parts/labor coverage for $28 w/ no deductible. Seems very fair, just wanted to see if anyone has any experience with this..Thanks

Square Trade is not a warranty. It is program that helps dealers show that they want to satisfy their customers.
Here is eBay's definition:
The SquareTrade Seal is one way for sellers to show bidders that they are committed to high selling standards and have had their identity verified by a third party. To retain a SquareTrade Seal a seller must:
* Agree to participate in SquareTrade's Dispute Resolution should a problem arise
* Have their identity verified by SquareTrade
* Commit to SquareTrade's standards for online selling
If for some reason you need to file a case with SquareTrade, you can be assured that the seller will respond. SquareTrade also guarantees all listings with a verified SquareTrade Seal for up to $250.00 against fraud.
I have morked closely with eBay VP of eBay's Trust and Safety Department. I asked him about this specific thing one time and he told me that there was no such thing as a Square Trade warranty. Square Trade only helps buyers and sellers come to a resolution should there be a problem. There are no guarantees other than that should a problem arise, both sides of the issue will be heard by a panel of moderators.

Your reference to eBay is what threw me off. This is not the same thing as eBay's Square Trade. It may be the same company but it is not the same Square Trade program that eBay sellers sign up for because that is as I described above. But... As long as you get a warranty. Good luck with it.
