Great ideas all! (but what's this "new hood" you're talking about?)
I would also like to see on the new HHR SS:
Dual Exhaust
Special SS Dash insignia and SS embroidered logos on the seats
Special HHR SS Chrome 18" wheels
SS badges on the grille and the back hatch instead of bowtie
SS ground effects and chin spoiler package (would that be too much?)
Make mine SS Yellow please!

Three colours are acceptable (Standard Onyx Black; Dark Grey-Green Metallic; and Dark Cherry Metallic), but Black is the only SS Colour!

I would like to see...
  1. Pioneer audio system as standard.
  2. Ebony Leather interior (Ebony cloth as an option).
  3. Red outlined Bowtie on both front and back (as well as the SS badge on the back).
  4. 17" 10-spoke wheel with black finish (or a black wheel with a chrome ring... a la 1985 Buick GN).
  5. A black mesh grill on both upper and bottom.
  6. The rear license plate need to be moved to the bumper, instead of the liftgate.
  7. 20% limo tinting on all side windows.
  8. the chrome HHR badges need to be a matt black.
  9. Dual exhaust is a must.
  10. a Glass ****pit display for the gauges would be cool.
These are just a few of my ideas... I hope GM does at least 60% of them.

Why black as the only color? That would limit the number of people who would actually buy the car, (me being one of them) since I will never own another black car again. My Z28 is black and it gets dirty 5 seconds after I wash it. I love black, it's one of the baddest colors there is, but they will have to offer it in other colors just to keep the sales up. Remember, GM needs to make sales and only black would limit that I think.

I just like black as a colour... and I'm partially biased as to the colour choices I gave (since my first SS was a Black 1996 Impala SS), and those were GM's Impala SS colours.

But I also like yellow, just don't tell my wife.

oh I get it. Just b/c you owned one of these bad boys, all SS's have to be black. Okay, we'll excuse you now...

I love that model of Impala SS. Every time I see one in traffic I can't take my eyes off it. IMHO, one of the nicest-looking sedans ever made.

And they do look best in black, I'll agree.

Now you see my reasoning!

oh don't forget! disc brakes on all four wheels will be a must for any self-respecting SS.
And beef up the suspension too, how about an anti-sway bar?

that would be sweet!
dark and menacing, always a good combo for an SS
