Question SS or LT2 ?? Going Nuts!!

A few weeks to go until I order--and I STILL HAVE NOT decided!! I was SURE I wanted an 09 LT2 + some options--but then I sat inside a SS....

Problem: I really like the "retro" look of the LT2's grill, running boards, & overall appearance, etc..--that's what drew me to the HHR in the 1st place...

But I also think the SS gives you a lot more for just a little more $$ & may have greater future value (but I plan on keeping it a long time)..

For me it's a really tough call--both are within my budget...

So I thought I'd "ask the audience" for some help (using my 1st lifeline!)

Just curious what everyone thinks.. Thanks!!

Get the SS. I'm sure there is someone here who would love to have the SS body kit and would swap you for theirs. Ultimate sleeper.

**EDIT**

Have you driven an SS yet? I'm pretty sure you'll make up your mind the first time you punch it.

i bought an LT2 and dont regret it......... SS are nice in some ways... but for myself and my situation the LT2 is it.
there seem to be alot of unanswered problems...... IMO.........for the SS
Those that have the SS will probally say that SS is the way to go..... so therefore to each there own......

The only thing that you can get on a LT that you can't get on a SS is Heated leather seats. However the wild ride in the SS should make up for that

Have you checked to see if there is a difference in insurance costs?

easy enough to do heated seats too-I plan on doing that before the winter. If you are someone who wants more performance hp and handling go for the SS-if its more the cosmetics go for the LT.

LT2orSS

Speaking from first hand experience .....I've had both...........A ...07 LT2 and now have a 08 SS, Loved both but, it's hands down for the SS........ But it's your choice......no one can make it for you.......You should drive both and look each one over very carefully and get the one that suits you.....and as far as difference in insurance cost.....it is the same here in Fl........

For me,the initial purchase price and insurance cost tipped the balance to the 2 LT.I love my HHR 2LT,but if I could have afforded it I woud have gotten the SS.I guess I'm just a horsepower junkie.

Buy what you want and don't ask anyone else as your the one making the payments and going to have to drive it,

As for the fuutre value of the SS in the future it is too soon to say. While they are not common now they are building more every day.

I went to the SS for the fun to drive factor more than anything and improved gas mileage over my truck. It is a good value and I have no regrets.

If you like the LT2 looks you can't go wrong either. It comes down more to more sporty performance or looks you like.

It is your choice and neither one will be wrong.

Thanks Everyone!! (& especially your great advice, Whitewolf & hyperv6) It really is a head-scratcher... I'm going to drive the SS, then take a hard look, and then make a decision (hope I don't have to flip a coin!).. Will advise..
