Question SS rear spoiler

I bought one of the SS rear spoilers to put on my panel & it did not come with any template to locate the holes on the lift gate. I am talking about the flush mount spoiler that is very similar to the one for 67-9 Camaros. Not the one with the gap underneath of it that is only secured on the ends.

Has anyone out there installed one of these on a liftgate that did not previously have one from the factory. Just trying to figure out an accurate way of where to locate the five mount holes onto the curved top of the gate.

On my first HHR I had a shop install my Premiere Spoiler:

I know some here have done it themselves. Of course when I traded it in on the SS I didn't have to worry about it

Not to sure if they come with templates but like stephenm says make a template off of the bottom of the spoiler and transfer it to the rear hatch (we used poster board)! Also we would recommend covering the hatch with some wide masking tape as to help protect the paint! We also trimmed the three locator pins flush with the bottom of the spoiler as they seemed to hender the installation! Also with tape on the upper hatch you can measure between the mounting bolts and transfer it to the hatch and center the holes off of the side of the hatch also! Feel free to pm with any questions!
