SS Spoiler

Been searching the local bone yards for an SS spoiler and not having much luck. Decided to bite the bullet and order one from the local Chevy dealer. Price quoted over the phone was $365!!! Holy cow...must be made of gold! When I went to the dealership to get more info, I was able to get it at my buddies price...he runs a body shop...for $265, tax, title out the door. Still a bit steep on price but I guess if one really wants something, the price must be paid. No clue when it will come in. Of course will need to be painted. Should be able to that on my own. Dealer did not know if a mounting template would come with it or not....certainly hope so. Pictures will be posted as progress is made.

Good luck with the install, I mounted one so it can't be too tough, but mine was a loop...

These guys make paint that matches.....http://www.automotivetouchup.com/

Don't know if this will help but here's a SS picture that shows where the mounting hole location is on one side.(the nut in pic) It's the same thing on the other side of the hatch. Plus, there is the 2 sided tape that it mounts with.

Well crap! Hope I did not screw up again! Your picture shows two holes per side. My car, which is not an SS, only has the "bottom" hole. As long as a template is provided, I am not afraid to drill and modify the inner panel but guess I should have done a little prior research.

Shouldn't be any problem to mount. Once you drill the holes on the outside, you'll just have to drill straight down and through that second layer of sheet metal. Then enlarge the "inner" hole big enough for the nut/washer combo.
Hopefully it will come with the templet.
If not, here's 2 picturesAttachment 15557

Attachment 15558 for some perspective.

If you can find the template and mail it to me, that would be fantastic! I would be more than happy to send it back when the job is done...
