There are several on ebay pretty reasonable. You can also search for VW stubby antenna...the ones for the Golf or Jetta are interchangeable.

stubbyantenna.com!

I have the "I-series" on that site. Like courthousedeb said, the VW ones work too. If you go on stubbyantenna.com, you'll see compatibility charts and the I-series does work on VWs, HHRs and some other cars. I like the way the I-series looks, but it's up to you. There are lots that fit!

the I-series is cool, I wonder if it is a bit longer than the one I got from SoCal, I am not sure what the dimensions on that one are.

Ordered mine onEbay last week. Should be here any day. Search for VW jetta or passat. I got a chrome one, but the same vendor had them in black also.

They actually do on some of the models, including the I-series.

Be careful, silver is not chrome. Silver is brushed aluminum, but the chrome is mirror-like.

I used a GM onstar antenna mast Part # 15174755.
I found it on e-bay for $5.00. The only thing you will have to do is get a 6MM screw and cut to approx. 3/4" long. Both the HHR antenna base and the onstar antenna are female bases.
It's about 4" long and it looks great. And best of all I have not noticed any difference in the radio reception.
Good luck with your search.

So the reception should be about equal? That was my only reason for not getting one. My XM trial reception STINKS big time on my commute, so I doubt I will be re-upping when that comes for renewal. I can't believe how it goes in and out so close to Boston. So I am gun-shy about messing with AM/FM reception...
