Stubby Reception???

I'm considering getting my dad a stubby antenna for Christmas. The only concern I have is that of the reception. Will it worsen???? I also would like to get him some smoothie door locks. How hard are they to put on?? Hurry up and give me some feedback! I havent started my Christmas shopping yet!

I havent experienced any reception problems with my stubby, and the Door Locks are a piece of cake to install.... look on SoCal's website and he has the directions posted.... the same ones you will get with the locks.... to cut the lock stem down I used a dremel tool .... but I think a strong grip on some tin snips or end cutters will do the same.... (I just used it as an excuse to buy a dremel tool )

Get him the longer stubby, just a suggestion.

That is the one I suggest, The short stubby is good for in town I found a 55 mile radius when traveling.

It worked okay with the stock radio. When I upgraded to an aftermarket radio the stubby antenna reception was pretty bad. I'm back with the OEM antenna now so I can listen to my FM.

Cool love it...

I got the chrome stubby, & I love the looks of it & in no way do I regret getting it. BUT, I do have to be completely honest in saying that I have noticed my FM stations used to come in perfectly clear with the stock antenna & they are not so clear with the stubby...but I hardly listen to FM anyway, probably less than 5% of the time, since I mostly listen to XM, a CD, or my iPOD.

Like Mike would say, the smashing good looks of the stubby are reason enough to get 1!!! That stock 'FISHING POLE' has to go!!!

I think we'll just keep the stock antenna, thanks just the same. It doesn't bother us in the least and we'd rather not take the chance of getting poor reception for changing it. Never have had it banging on the roof either Guess we just don't drive fast enough!
