Sun Roof Insulator ?

Sun Roof Insulator ?
My purchase of my 07 HHR and having a sun roof has been a new experience for me. I have observed during my lunch hour here in Atlanta, the heat build up is tremendous between the shade and the window. My bald head is just a burnin
I made some inquires on a different thread on the possibility of tinting the sun roof, but after visiting a few of the local tint shops, I got talked out of it. Putting a "Limo" type film on the sun roof would basically defeat the purpose of having one. It would be way to dark to appreciate the window.
My next venture was to try and insulate the window better during the hot time of the day, and I came up with the idea of cutting/trimming a windshield shade to the size of the sun roof, then inserting it in-between the shade and the glass. Wow what a difference with my AC. I actually had to turn it down today and we were in the 90's.
I was wondering if anyone has experienced same, and what your comments would be.
I have contacted a few manufacturers on the web to see if they would custom make me one that looks better then one I cut out with sissors.
I feel this would be an opportunity to make something like this and sell it.
If someone knows of anyone who does this, please update this thread with info.
The one I cut was a fold type, silver foil laminiated on each side to a 1/8 inch clear foam type material. It cuts real easy, and I don't see any debris break down from doing so on the edges as of yet. The end result is very compact in size when folded up where I stick it under the passenger seat.
The better solution would be the manufacturer of these windows to bond a better insulator to the shade to begin with.
I don't have the dimensions close to me, but if there is an interest I will be happy to provide so if you want to cut one out, you won't have to go through the tedious task of cutting and trying, cutting and trying to get it just right.
I started cutting using the outside window size as a guide, but by the time I got inside, I had to trim a lot more to get it to fit comfortably and have the ability to easily wedge it into the back first where the shade is open, then to the front of the sun roof where it can be easily taken in and out and folded away.
What Yall think ?
