Sunroof.. How much do you really use it?

I am unsure if the sunroof is something I will use or not. I originally had it as a must have but am kind of changing my tune some on that. My wife has it her Acadia and I bet we have had it open 3 or 4 times in the 6 months we have had the vehicle. I am getting an HHR SS in the next day or so and the dealer has located 1 with the sunroof and 1 without. The only deal is the one without is the color I really want (Silverstone/Ebony) and the one with the sunroof is a color I could deal with(imperial blue/gray), but not what I really want.

I was just curious how many people here really use the sunroof alot or is just another piece of glass to clean when you wash your car!!

I am leaning towards getting the color I want and forgetting about the sunroof..

I would pick the color of the car over having a sunroof. But the sunroof is a nice option to brighten your day I've had cars with and without. Doesn't make me any difference

the sunroof was a must have for us. I've had the car a week and we've had it open a bunch of times. And of the times it hasn't been open we've ad the sun visor on it pulled back for the extra sun etc.

But with out it had to be the color we wanted and the sunroof. I would probably end up picking the color though. Has the dealer tried looking farther? I think most will go up to 300 miles. If you're dropping a lot of money on a car, make sure it is exactly like you want it.

I've had my Blackie since 8.31.07.
So other then the occasional rainy day, my sunroof is the FIRST thing I open every day when I get in.

So, I use it every day.

But I agree that you should go with the color you want--I REALLY wanted the Imperial Blue, but have no regrets about my Blackie!

Just get it already!

Eventually the drains on a sunroof will get debris build up in them then it will leak. So if you get a sunroof, just be sure to regularly check the sunroof drains for obstruction. Most sun roofs have these drains, I've not seen HHR suns but I'm sure they do too. As long as you keep the drains clear, the sun roof will not leak.

I had a sunroof in my previous car and I rarely used it. I like to keep the inside of my cars clean, and the sunroof lets in all sorts of dust and dirt when it's open.

A sunroof is a must-have option as far as I'm concerned.

I think the sunroof is as much about cooling the car as it is about looks. I use the sunroof all the time on the "vent" setting where it sticks up from the roof.

I think it adds a sporty look to the HHR.
