Actually, an old friend of mine from outside of Chicago and myself have been taking annual surf road trips to the Florida East Coast (Cocoa Beach down to Miami) every summer since high school.

I learned early on a windsurfboard on Creve Couer Lake. Windsurfing is sure not the same as surfing but it was where I got my early start.

I'm definitely no "expert surfer" but I'm no "grimmie" either...

T-Street, Trestles, Old Mans, and San-O Trails are minutes from my door now...

That Jeep is looking good, Mike... but I miss seeing your HHR...

Boy are you lucky... closest waves are only a 14 hour drive away for me...

Never made it out to the west coast yet but when I do, I'll let you know and maybe we can meet up for some CA breaks.

I didn't think about wind surfing. That's real popular down here in the Florida panhandle also. I stick to kayaking in the bayous to avoid the big boats and tourists on jet skis.
