I have the panel, the storage compartments where the back seat normally would be are lockable, an important legal aspect if you are transporting firearms. The won't hold a rifle, but they make it impossible (well, almost) to access a handgun without stopping the vehicle and removing the key from the ignition.

Oh, and get the running boards, your doors will thank you!

I have a 08 2.2 LT auto, panel and LOVE it. You just have to get use to people looking at it all the time and asking if it is custom built, or they tell me how much they like it. Drove from S. Carolina to Michigan and my DIC showed 74 MPH average with 30.1 MPG!! How can you beat that for all the room you have plus the cool look. You will get use to the blind spots. You just have to square up with the road and use your mirrors. If you back out of a parking spot just go slow and so far other drivers have waited. I think they just want to check it out!! I have had it for 7 months and have 14,000 smiles I mean miles on it.

Oh, yeah, blind spots....

I've been driving vans since I've been driving, so blind spots aren't really an issue to me, I'm used to them.

The mirrors are large enough that I've had no problems adjusting to the smaller panel

Do we have to send a team of armed assasins down there to beat you about the head with wet noodles?

When it comes to a new car, happy/satisfied beats saving $500 any time.

Just kiddin' you will like this car though.

True that...speaking of which...I was at the dealership today and test drove a Panel for the first time. Got to take it out on the interstate and some four-lane highway and the blindspots weren't as noticable as I thought they'd be.

Anyway, the salesperson said that tomorrow (6/24/08) Chevy is increasing the cashback incentive from $2000 to $2500 total if that interests anyone. The one I drove was nice...Panel LS in Silver with runningboards installed. Needs wheels (not a fan of the wheel covers), but everything else was nice.

Go rent one for a week or two. If you're not convinced that the HHR rocks, check your pulse - you may be dead

Well...it's done! Just got the ball rolling on an 08 Silver HHR Panel LS. The incentives from Chevrolet were just too tempting to pass up (I guess Chevy's marketing department knows what they're doing, LOL). Saved lots of money by shopping online. This will be my first new car ever (I don't count my wife's car as mine, even though we bought it new).

I should take delivery tomorrow morning. The dealership is about 60 miles away, so it should make for a nice ride home!
