Temp Sensor Location

Does anybody know where the actual sensor is located that measures the outside air temp, the temp that is displayed on the DIC menu selection along with the total miles driven?

That's the light sensor for the automatic lights. That's why it tells you not to cover it up in the owners manual. Seeing as how the temp. sensor measures the outside air temp. it's got to be somewhere outside the cabin you would think.

I thought that the alien locator strobe... you know, it starts flashing when the mother ship hovers over you... so it doesn't accidentally land on you.

Exactly, it has to measure outside air, so it also cannot probably be under the hood or it would get engine heat. It needs free flowing air. Maybe under the car or a fenderwell. It seems to be pretty accurate.

I did some searching and didn't find anything HHR specific, but did read that GM places the sensor in the front area of the car near or underneath the bumper cover.

Hard to guess where it might be. Certainly couldn't be anywhere near the engine compartment. Maybe in the base of the antenna??

One would think so, huh?
The temp sensor should be located in that sensor. My wife's Infiniti QX4 also has an outside air temp display, and the sensor is located in the same place on the dash (give/take 6 inches). And the QX4 does not have any light sensor due to not having DRLs.

i know exactly where it is
looking at the front of the car, behind the left or passenger front headlight on the wall behind it you will see a plug and a small attachment plugged on it and that is it.

how do i know?
in putting in the new foglights, i disconnected it to see if that was a cover and was for the fog lights and found out it was the temp sensor
you can reach it from the tire well
