Good luck! My first car was dolled up real nice when I bought it but it ended up finding out it was a beater a couple of months after buying it. I also had to pay for mine. After my first car I decided I was never buyin a used car again so I could make sure the car is properly maintained. Unless I am buying a classic and restoring it myself so I know that the car was redone properly.

you know guys...
if I didnt marry a Yankee, I wouldn't know what a 'beater' was. Anyway, most cars I had were nice, I ended up making them beaters. HAHAHA Now that I am over thirty I tend not to tell that many people that anymore. We're all friends here right?

Now...that's funny CH...and interchangeable with the term "beater"
My 1st car was a 58 Chevrolet BelAir...you know the ones that had the problem with the top of the fender above the headlight rusting out? In fact, I had two of them....paid $100 for each and they ran great...just looked like a POS/beater.

i think this thread has been hijacked
My grandpa bought all of his grandkids their first cars. I was the lucky one to get a 1977 toyota corrolla 4 dr. It was in ten different colors, due to rust, new and used parts, and it was made entirely of bondo on the drivers side. I opened up the hood to find out that the underbracing of the hood was only attached in the back of the hood, so it was like opening a door and a screen door just to check the oil. btw I am so jealous that someone gets to start out driving in a HHR.
