Things done over the weekend

Thanks for the reminder. I picked up a cabin air filter at my local Chevy dealer last week and just installed it after looking at this thread. Mine old one didn't look as bad as yours. Maybe the previous owner actually replaced it sometime.
As for the K&N filter with the OEM box, have you noticed any difference in fuel economy or power with it?

Have yet to do any real driving after the install (only been in 24 hours now), but it sure seemed a bit quicker to go from 75 to 90 MPH to pass a few Sunday drivers on the Turnpike.

Can only do one test at a time, either performance or economy, this tank I'm trying performance so economy is going a little down hill right now.

I have the K&N air filter. It did seem to help with performance, ecspecially the get up and go, but I didnt really notice much on the mileage maybe 1 mph better. I used a cheesy cabin filter by a brand called Quality Air and it folded up when inserted, which brand did you use and how did it hold up going in? Also what was the P/N for the K&N oil cartridge?
Thanks and I'm sure Dory likes being able to breathe better

Forgive my utter ignorance, but where is the cabin filter found? Is that the glove box? How often should one worry about changing it? (I'm only three months into ownership and haven't even passed 1600 miles total, so I'm surely faaaar away from such things, but I'm determined to keep a perfect maintenance schedule on this bad boy!)

The filter is located inside the glove box. You'll need you drop the glove box door to be able to get at the filter. It is in it's own compartment at the top inside the glove box. Not too sure on what the recommended time/mileage it should be changed, but I will be sure to check mine every 3 months or 2,500 miles, considering how much debris/leaves it has collected this 10K.

Much obliged...from the photos, I couldn't see how that could be anyplace other than the glove box, but figured I might as well be a fool and ask. What does the filter set you back? Is it a dealer-only kind of thing?
