I tend to think most everyone on this site is going to give the HHR a positive review. I'd recommend one. Anyone here so unhappy they wished they'd bought something else?

I have owned my HHR since January 2006 and have not had a single problem with it whatsoever. I am very pleased with my purchase and my boyfriend who has always owned cars from the 60's and 70's by choice, said if he was in the market for a new car, he would definitely buy an HHR.
Buying a car...even a new one can be a crap shoot, regardless of who manufactures it. Please keep in mind all the good comments about the HHR as well. I don't believe you'll find another car out there that offers such a great canvas to work with and stand out in a crowd like the HHR does.
Take the plunge...you won't be sorry you did.

EDIT: paint your CGS to match your HHR and get an extra 5 HP

Just want to let you know, That I have purchased My HHR on Feb 18 2006 and I have 18,648 mile on it as of this morning and I have not had any problems with mine. I have never had to take it back to the Dealership for any problems other then an oil change & Tire rolation. I guess I have been lucky but then again I know a few other HHR owners and they never had any problems at all. Think about it and make your own choice. Good luck in what ever you do.

Buy one
I joined the forum months before making the decision to go ahead and get an HHR. I have NEVER owned a chev before (was a true blue ford guy; our family owned a Lincoln dealership even), so this was a reach for me. Heck, even my dad loves to drive it and he thinks it is gorgeous. This from a car dealer who hasn't really cared about any cars coming out over the last 15 years.
The fit and finish of this "cheap" car really impressed him!
I watched the forum go through lots in that time and no doubt there were some issues (some were related to the early builds if you follow the GM site at all for repairs to them) Mine isn't that old BUT I haven't had this much fun with a vehicle in ..... well too long. I'm even doing "mods" that I thought I outgrew well .... a long time ago. The car is everything I expected and more, in that it is fun to drive, great on gas, and I have had ZERO problems or concerns.
Up here in Canada, there aren't a lot of them on the road yet, so I get lots of looks now that the chrome is on, and I am thanking my lucky stars I didn't go for another me too product (aka; SUV/gas guzzler or something). Think hard , it IS still a major investment. But based on what I have found, the HHR shouldn't dissapoint you.
Good luck and TEST DRIVE SOME CARS TO GET A FEEL FOR THEM!

No Problems
I have had no problems with mine. If I could purchase now, after reading all the stuff on the forum, I'd get running boards. That's the only thing I would do differently. I love mine. Let me warn you about one thing, however. It will change the way you think about automobiles. I now wash my car every week, mod it all I can, and basically love it.

Had our HHR just over a year, 6,200 miles on it. We definitely have the A/C whine/growl , and we had to have the sun visors replaced. But other than that, everything seems to be fine! I'd certainly buy it again, but this time I'd wait for the 0% loans to come around instead of getting stuck with 5.9% for 72 months like I did back in 8/05!!

I've had my front rotors turned once already, and they will need it again soon. Whats the deal with these crappy brakes?
Had the pass side rear window regulator replaced, it had been making noise for quite a while.
But other than that its been pretty good to me for the last 29,500 miles.
