Thinking about replacing my gauge cluster...

Well, you all may remember when I bought my HHR a few weeks back... I went in to the dealership, and they ended up repainting my driver's side door (to get rid of the scratches) and it looks great now. Still at issue is the gauge cluster plastic. They tried to buff out the scratches in the plastic, and it is almost gone, however I can still see them a little bit at the right angle. However, the guy who did the buffing noticed that their was dust behind the plastic in the gauge cluster, and said he'd be able to warranty a replacement of the gauges for that reason (which would take care of the scratches issue as well). My question to you all is this, should I go ahead and have them replace the gauges (and risk whatever damage might possible happen to the interior dash while they were working on all of this) or should I just call it quits, and not have them do it anymore... Thanks for your opinions as I value them all :)

Thumbs up

I'd vote for the replacement.

As much as we pay for these they should be made right. I'd also hope they can do it without damaging it.

It's a brand new car with a factory warranty and you are entitled to a vehicle that is without defect. I would definitely go for the replacement and I'm sure they won't cause any damage in the process. If by chance that happens, they should be responsible for that as well. You paid for a new car and deserve to have one without these defects.

Looks like this will be a unanimous answer..........

Get the replacement, and if they damage anything in the process they will be liable for it.

The exchange shouldn't be that difficult, so have the gauges replaced...
