Thinking of buying a 2009 wagon

I'm considering buying a 2009 2.4 with the 5 spd manual trans. Can anyone give me a heads-up? It has 153000 miles on it.
my 2010 was recently totaled when 1 of 2 street racers struck it

Check all the suspension up front, listen for timing chain noises and test the clutch and shifter, the cables get worn out.

Clutch. If it hasn't been replaced at that many miles, it probably doesn't have much life left in it.

See if there are receipts to show what work has been done to it. Again, with that mileage, some wear items should have been replaced. Those that haven't will be needing it in the near future.
Wheel bearings, timing chain, suspension parts are all suspect.

Don’t trust any statement that all the parts were just replaced! Unless they can back up those claims with receipts and photos!
and be prepared to replace some parts , either as a winter project or a few pieces at a time when required!

have a close look and sniff, just in front of the driver’s side rear tire, a wet fuel line indicates a rusty fuel line, not a bad job but a job that has to be done!

Best to keep an open mind about year and features. You won’t find tons of rust-free low-mileage HHR’s.

Closely inspect the inside bottom of all four doors and the lift gate for rust. The rear wheel opening arches are prone to bubbling paint from rust .
