Mmmmmmkay..... I know I'm just a noob here, but I'm a long time Vanner who's done a fair amount of shows.....

List o' things I could do without:

(In no particular order)

The timeout dolls
The chrome plated/ painted 'gas oil water' cans
Drive in trays
Drive in theatre speakers
Displays larger than the vehicle
Stuffed animal 'driver'
Toolbox/fire extinguisher
Scale model of car
Lawn Chairs with car's name embroidered
Artfully lettered 'For Sale' sign in side glass

There's probably more, but you get the drift.

IMHO, if you think you car needs stuff around it to draw attention, then you must not feel your car is worthy of attention. If I am going to vote for 'People's Choice', I want to vote the car the owner is proud of, not the one he is trying to hide behind a wall of debris.

the 71 stingray and the 49 plymoth on either side of me had great cars... but they sat behind their cars all day long ALONE...

i must of had conversations with over a hundred people... i think i had more fun

you could also get rid of

food vendors
ice cream stands
shucks tire displays
all the other vendors that distract from the car around them
the DJs and the endless loud music
the dragsters cranking up every hour
the mega watt stero systems where all you hear is the bass five blocks away...
girls/women wearing poodle skirts and bobby socks
fat farts that have bellies hanging out of their tee shirts
adults that should know how to speak in public
all the smokers
all the guys that love FORDS
all the guys that love mopar
all the motorcycles that come to car shows
all the grumpy people
all the people that don t think my cars are the greatest
cars that aren t detailed to perfection
all project/inwork cars
all cars that cost more that $45k to restore
all black cars... i can t see them
all t buckets
trophies
car catigories
any car that is not at least 32 years old
semis
raffle tickets
the guys that drop sheets of paper on my fronts seats that announce more car shows
cars that have ratty looking braided radiator hoses
cars with stick on flames
stock cars that have been modified
chrome air cleaners on 55 chevys
ricers
lo riders
foriegn cars including minis
crying screaming kids

people that think all the above stuff doesn t belong at car shows

you get rid of all the stuff that someone thinks is useless... all you have left is a

PISTON laying in the middle of the street

think i ll keep TOD an put up with all the other stuff... kick back and have fun

i am and have been proud of all my cars... found the best way to trophy is to park next to the BLUE BOXS try it... it works

Well, you did ask....

If the TOD works for you, more power to ya!

I'm just saying the more stuff around the car, the less I look at the car.

But that just me, I'm kinda weird that way.
